Worn Work Gloves

Used a custom photogrammetry rig to capture these gloves. I retopologized and baked the textures to a lower poly mesh of about 20k tris. The original scan data was about 10 mil tris. and an 8k texture. Trying to save up for a dslr to get more texture detail but for now I just used my iphone xr on a tripod. I used the turn in place method with a white background for the capture and a lazy suzanne to turn it 10 degrees per shot. I ended up with about 176 images after discarding a couple and batched downscaled the images for a cheaper reality capture PPI. I used image layers to use the original scale images for texturing for the highest detail. Funny enough the downscaled images actually produced a better geometry result than the original scale images at about a quarter of the reconstruction time.

If you are interested in using these gloves in your own project they are available on Sketchfab.
